iPhone has supported eSIM since the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR launched in 2018. Every iPhone from XS onwards includes eSIM hardware — with one exception: models sold in mainland China from XS through iPhone 14 use dual physical nano-SIMs instead. iPhone 15 and later support eSIM in all regions worldwide.
Mainland China variants (iPhone XS – iPhone 14) do not support eSIM. Check your model number in Settings → General → About → Model Number. China variants end in /CH (e.g. MTQY3CH/A).
